With Hurricane Gustav approaching the Gulf Coast, just three years after the worst storm ever, what are we doing? Well, The Writer is Writing, of course (chapter 5 of the new novel read yesterday!) while I did our weekly shopping, shopped for a baby shower gift for our DC friends, and mowed the yard. Alas, reality is still on hold around here.

Well, it was really over for me last week, but because the Vilbergen were still on vacation, I could pretend I was, too!  However, Ruthie just called me from the car on her way in to work, so I guess I have to get out of denial and into my own little slice of reality.

It was so glorious to have Bill & Ruth and the kids here at our home for some time….to just relax and sit and talk and talk and watch people play with their technologies.  What a bunch of geeks!

106 days till Thanksgiving when we are back together again!

The Writer got an email from his editor at the Sun Herald yesterday notifying him that his weekly column will be moved from the Saturday edition of the paper to the SUNDAY edition! Isn’t that great?! It starts tomorrow! Six months on “probationary” status and he’s bumped UP! Yea!!!!!
